Compared with light efficiency and spectrum, the advantage of LED in the service life is the least objectionable. The life cycle is tens of thousands of hours, enough to stand out from the crowd. But longevity has a premise: the temperature and current must be controlled within a reasonable range.

Low power = low fever? The answer is no.

LEDs have light decay. It depends on the current in your design, the heat dissipation, and the quality of the LED itself. The natural enemy of life is heat dissipation. Generally, the junction temperature of LEDs cannot exceed 80 degrees, otherwise the life is greatly shortened. This is a far cry from the operating temperature of a typical semiconductor device of 150 degrees. At present, most LED packages are basically 1, aluminum substrate, 2, ceramic substrate. It must be thermally coupled to the heat sink when in use. The direct cause of high temperatures is the "overclocking" of large currents. Because the price difference between LEDs of different specifications is very different, some manufacturers artificially increase the current in order to make the LED brighter. The current is inversely proportional to the efficacy. The current increases from 350ma to 1A, and the light efficiency drops from 100lm/w to less than 50lm/w. The excess energy is apparently dissipated as heat.

Therefore, civilian-grade LED displays often sacrifice brightness in order to achieve long-term life. Even low brightness is a weakness, and if you see a low-cost and high-brightness LED display, then you should be careful.

Original Sin 4: Large viewing angle

In fact, the difference between CCFL backlight and LED backlight and wide viewing angle is not obvious. If consumers are concerned about the viewing angle of the display, please look at the viewing angle parameters and evaluation in our evaluation article before purchasing.

The original sin five: choose it when the price difference is low
