Multi-DSP image processing recognition system for marine search and rescue

introduction

Maritime search and rescue services are an important part of the national emergency rescue system and an important guarantee for the country's economic development. The use of advanced search systems is one of the important means to improve the effectiveness of search and rescue operations. Usually, the search system uses a radar or photoelectric imaging system. Because the optical image sensor has a high resolution, the observation distance can reach 20~40km under the ideal visibility, but its disadvantage is that it depends on a large degree of good. Weather and sunshine conditions. The infrared image sensor has the ability to penetrate smoke, fog, sputum, snow, etc., which can make up for this deficiency. Therefore, the photoelectric search system composed of infrared, visible light imaging and DSP image processing system is adopted.

According to the nature of marine search and rescue, the system should have the following basic capabilities:

High suspicious target detection capability;

High ocean background anti-interference ability;

Has a certain target recognition and tracking capabilities.

Based on the above considerations, this paper designs an image processing system consisting of two TMS320F2812 and eight TMS320C6416T.

System indicator requirements

Visible light video input: CCIR/EIA or PAL/NTSC video signals

Infrared video input: CCIR/EIA

Video output: VGA or standard video output

Video AD conversion accuracy: 12bit

Video display DA conversion accuracy: 10bit

Image processing frame rate: greater than 30Hz

The minimum number of pixels that can detect the "target": 3 & TImes; 3

System solutions

The system block diagram is shown in Figure 1.

The TMS320F2812 is used for video acquisition, and the XINTF interface is connected with multiple 6416-HPI interfaces to realize image data transmission. Each 6416 adopts a running mode of operation, and the processed image data is output through the EMIFB interface, and the output image is displayed by the monitor through the display circuit.

The system adopts an expandable structure, and the number of 6416 image processing units can be determined according to actual needs. Four or eight 6416 image processing units are typically employed.

The system software filters and detects the image data, detects suspicious targets and identifies them.

For single video input, four or eight 6416 image processing units can be selected to form an image processor.

The timing diagram of the dual video input operation is shown in Figure 2. Each video channel has four 6416 image processing units, each adopting a running mode, and each piece 6416 processes an image with a maximum period of 4 frames, and the processing results of the two groups are output to the image display module for processing.

System hardware design

The hardware system consists of three parts: a video acquisition circuit, an image processing circuit, and a display circuit. The overall block diagram of the hardware design is shown in Figure 3.
