Foreword
I purchased Seagate’s 2TB hard drive back in April, but lately, it hasn't been performing well. Since my home computer doesn't need top-tier speed—just reliability—I’ve been running it on XP. Recently, though, I've noticed more issues, so I decided it's time for a change. As part of the upgrade, I also decided to add another hard drive.
Reasons for Purchase
This is my second 5TB hard drive, and while I could go into more detail, let’s cut to the chase. I’m someone who enjoys playing games, including those involving gold coins.

The delivery guy mentioned it would arrive soon, so I waited in the same spot for about an hour. On such a hot day, I appreciated his effort.

Long-lost 5TB storage—it feels nostalgic. At the moment, 8TB isn’t cost-effective, so I’ll wait for Black Friday to upgrade. For now, 5TB should suffice.

Unpacking revealed the usual contents: the hard drive itself, manual, charger, and data cable.

I noticed some units come with multiple charging plugs, while others don’t. I vaguely recall older versions, but I don’t quite understand why the packaging varies so much.

This mirrored design looks sleek. It’s functional as a mirror, though it doubles as a fingerprint magnet. Consider covering it with film or tape if you’re concerned about smudges.

The dense array of ventilation holes gives me pause. Living in a dusty area, I’ll have to keep it clean. Maybe investing in an air purifier is worth considering.
Same as before, it features USB 3.0 and charging ports.

Without further ado, let’s get started.
Experience and Feelings
Over the years, I’ve been using Seagate hard drives and Rui Wing products, moving from 1TB to 2TB and now 5TB. Generally, they’ve been reliable, though some users have reported issues with current noise. It’s usually faint and doesn’t cause major disruptions. This new model is a bit of a hassle due to its fingerprint-prone surface. Compared to the older version, aside from the mirror finish and denser heat holes, there’s little difference. Overall, it performs well, though it’s a shame it doesn’t support XP anymore. Moving forward, I’m excited to see what 8TB has in store.

In conclusion, I’m optimistic about this upgrade. It meets my needs for stability and capacity, even if it requires a bit more maintenance.
