Four cores come: VIA's strongest performance mini-board is released

VIA also released a Mini-ITX mini-size motherboard "EPIA-M900" today, known as its most powerful dual-core mini-board, and for the first time offered four core options, in addition to the most abundant I /O input and output selection.

The motherboard's chipset is the long-lasting VX900 with integrated graphics core DX9 Chrome9 HD. QuadCore 1.2GHz quad core processor, or dual-core Nano X2 1.6GHz, Eden X2 1.0GHz. In terms of heat dissipation, the first two fans are active, and the latter one can be muted and passive.

There are two DDR3-1066 SO-DIMM memory sockets (up to 8GB in capacity) on the motherboard, two SATA 3Gbps disk interfaces, one PCI-E x1 and one PCI expansion socket, and two VIA VT6130 Gigabit Ethernet cards and VIA VT2021 sound card. The back interface has two PS/2, two COM, VGA, HDMI, four USB 2.0, two RJ-45, linear input and output, and microphone input.

Onboard expansion features single and dual channel two 18/24-bit LVDS outputs, GPIx8/GPOx8 two digital inputs and outputs, four USB 2.0 ports, six RS232 COMs, one LPC, one mouse and keyboard PS/2, S /PDIF output and so on.

If you add VIA LPC-01/02 expansion card, the number of COM serial ports can reach twelve. If there is not enough space, PCIE-03 expansion cards can also be selected to extend the onboard PCI-E x1 and PCI slots to the external space.

The VIA EPIA-M900 motherboard is mainly targeted at embedded applications such as ATMs, presentation kiosks, POS terminals, digital signage, health care, and digital media, and is now shipping. The Nano X2 dual-core model in the official store sells for 272 US dollars, equivalent to more than 1,700 yuan, and the quad-core model is not yet available.
