The four folk artists from the Xi'an Mass Art Museum are making final preparations before the launch of the Shenkong seven-hole lantern at the lakeside. This kongming lamp is 3.6 meters high and 1 meter in diameter, and is completely made with reference to the real thing. The founder is 70-year-old kite master Zhang Tianwei. He said that after getting the news that the Shenzhou-7 spacecraft was about to take off at noon yesterday, he and several folk artists combined to make a Kongming lamp according to the Shenzhou model, and everyone got the unanimous consent.
Zhang Tianwei is responsible for the overall structure. Lu Guoling is responsible for the cutting part of Kongming Lantern. Wang Zhi is responsible for the outreach. After 9 hours of cooperation, the Kongming Lantern was finally completed.
