In today’s LED lighting market, prices vary greatly among different sellers, and each claims their products are the best. As a layperson, how can you determine if an LED lamp is of good quality? The quality of an LED lamp mainly depends on several key factors.

1. Lumen depreciation. High-quality LED lamps should have a lumen depreciation of less than 30% after 25,000 hours. The main factors that influence this are the quality of the light source and the heat dissipation design. Original foreign packaged high-power light sources, such as CREE, typically offer better performance than domestic ones. As a consumer, it's hard to tell the difference in the light source itself, so price can be a rough indicator. Foreign brand light sources are usually more expensive, so if you want a better quality LED lamp, make sure the manufacturer provides clear information about the light source.

2. Luminous efficacy refers to lumens per watt (lm/W), which indicates how energy-efficient the lamp is. A higher luminous efficacy means the lamp is more power-efficient. Currently, LEDs and compact fluorescent lamps are similar in efficiency, but with technological advancements, some LED manufacturers like CREE have already reached up to 186 lm/W.

3. Light source type. High-power LEDs are commonly used in LED lighting, while cheaper options like "straw hat" or "piranha" type LEDs are not suitable for long-term use. High-power LEDs are more expensive but offer better performance and longevity.

4. Driver quality. The driver is crucial for the lifespan of the entire lamp. While the theoretical lifespan of an LED is 100,000 hours, the driver often has a shorter life. To ensure the overall durability of the lamp, it's important to choose a high-quality constant current driver. Cheap constant voltage drivers can significantly reduce the lifespan of the LED. Consumers can look at the warranty period and other specifications to assess the driver's quality.

When choosing an LED lamp, consider your needs first—whether you're looking for high-end, mid-range, or budget options. Evaluate the lamp based on the following aspects:

1. Chip type. The most advanced chips currently available include the CREE 3rd generation, priced around 15 yuan per watt. Other reputable brands include Puri, as well as Japanese and South Korean manufacturers. I personally recommend Puri chips due to their superior performance and reliability.

2. Lumen depreciation. This is closely related to the lamp's heat dissipation and chip packaging. The manufacturer should also provide relevant information on these aspects.

3. Luminous flux. Some manufacturers claim up to 130 lm/W, but for indoor lighting, 80–90 lm/W is usually sufficient and more mature in technology.

4. Color temperature and surface treatment of the lamp body.

5. Driver. This is one of the weakest links in LED lamps, as most drivers only last about 2 years. After that, the driver may fail, causing the lamp to stop working.
