Liu Weimin: The best energy is energy-saving energy

The light of Haoyu is one of the early companies involved in LED lighting in China. In 2005, it began to produce LED street lamps. The company is one of the 29 companies selected for the “Ten Cities and Ten Thousand Cities” test in Shenzhen. Gaogong LED reporter visited the company, and general manager Liu Weimin shared his views on this test and industry development.

High-tech LED: Where is your current market focus?

Liu Weimin: Our business is mainly divided into two parts, one is outdoor lighting, such as LED street lights, LED tunnel lights, LED flood lights, etc. This is our focus, but also the energy saving of LED lighting. The other is commercial lighting, such as functional lighting products in hotels and commercial centers, which is large in a market and has broad application prospects.

High-tech LED: When will the light of the world begin to do LED street lights, what is the situation at the beginning?

Liu Weimin: We started to do LED street lights in 2005. At that time, we paid some "tuition fees." At that time, the lumen efficiency was very low. We did three tests and tested it in some places in Shenzhen. Later, we found that there was no way to control the light decay. At that time, we used a medium-power chip from a Korean company. It is not easy to go to this step today, which is a relatively successful stage.

High-tech LED: Your company participated in the recent Shenzhen “Ten Cities and Ten Thousand Miles” LED street light test. What do you think of your achievements?

Liu Weimin: Our street lamp design is based on the theoretical values ​​of the relevant industry to do technology research and development. Before the "Ten Cities and Ten Thousand Miles", we made a demonstration road in Hongling Road in Shenzhen, which was installed in March 2008. Before the National Day, when it was handed over to the streetlights, it was unloaded. We have come to a result, the heat dissipation level is very good, the light decay level is about 10%, this lamp uses the Xuming chip. In the pilot test of Shenzhen “Ten Cities and Ten Thousands”, we adopted Cree's chip, and the efficiency of the whole lamp increased by about 30%.

Gaogong LED: Wu Chunhai in the street lamp said that the current LED street light can not be used for the main road. What do you think?

Liu Weimin: In order to use the main road, the efficiency of the lamps is 80 lm/W. The national illuminance requirement is 20lx per square meter. According to the road width and pole distance of this test, 12 (road width) * 35 (rod distance) = 420 square meters, 20 * 420 = 8400 lumens. 80 lm / W * 150W = 12000 lumens, 12000 > 8400, so now the LED street light's light efficiency is enough, but now most of the LED street light manufacturers in the general use of the coefficient is generally not in the international level, the problem is to use The coefficient is raised.

High-tech LED: Some of the company's light effects in this test are very good, but the color temperature is very high, how to treat it?

Liu Weimin: In fact, in general, the higher the color temperature, the higher the efficiency. In fact, the higher the color temperature, the higher the evaporation rate of the phosphor. In order to meet people's habits, we use the 4054K color temperature chip to do, the leader of the pipeline lamp said that our street lights look good. Many other companies are 5000K to 6500K, and some companies even use more than 8,000 K. In fact, no one will purchase more than 8,000 K street lamps. Although there will be a 15% efficiency drop from 4000K to 6000K, we still insist on using more than 4,000 K, which is 5500K or less according to national regulations.

High-tech LED: How about your LED power supply?

Liu Weimin: Actually, the power factor is 99.9%, which is no problem. It is mainly the demand and cost. Our power supply is produced by ourselves. Now some LED power supply manufacturers have been speculating on a simple concept, that is, waterproof power supply, from IP65-IP67. In fact, the cost of waterproof performance is not high, but you are repeatedly destroying (gluing) power.

High-tech LED: How is the current light of the world in the heat dissipation?


Liu Weimin: We are working with Foshan Huaquan to develop a new way of cooling. It is a relatively high-tech thing, using electronic cyclones to make air convection efficiently. The current mainstream approach is natural convection, which must be used to dissipate heat over a large area and is limited in certain environments. This technology uses some low-energy electronic devices to control the flow of outside air, which is generally used indoors and not outdoors.

For LED street lights, we use the traditional natural convection heat dissipation method. Through the unique structural design, the air can be fully convected and achieves good results. Although many companies have a heat dissipation area that is one-third larger than ours, the thermal conductivity of the materials used is 100 W/┫•K larger than ours.

We also did some processing on the power supply. We let it be isolated from the lamp head to prevent heat from being transferred to the light source, and at the same time to provide a special heat dissipation for the power supply.

High-tech LED: Some companies put the power supply in the pole to solve the heat problem. What do you think of this way?

Liu Weimin: I don't agree with this approach, because the wire is too long, it will affect the efficiency of the whole lamp and the stability of the voltage. For example, the power supply output is 60V DC, and the true light source may only be more than 40 volts.

I think the future development direction is to make a simple interface module. If the light source is broken, you can replace it with one or two screws and you don't have to replace the whole lamp.

High-tech LED: What is the characteristic of the street light in the light of optics?

Liu Weimin: We have also paid some tuition fees for this piece of light. There are two types of light distribution, lenses and reflectors. If the lens is to absorb 10-12% of the light, the reflector should absorb 5-10%. The disadvantage of using a lens is that the lens will turn yellow after a long time. If the reflector is used, there is no related problem. It is easier to design the lens from a technical point of view, and the technology development cycle is short, which is why the lens technology is not reflective. The reason for the general. We are working on a new type of reflector that can achieve a reflection efficiency of over 95%. If successful, it will be a major breakthrough.

High-tech LED: At present, a small number of companies use integrated chips for lighting. Hasn't the light of the universe have been considered in this way? Some companies use five-watt large module chips to make street lights. What do you think?

Liu Weimin: We have also studied this technology and suggest that other companies should not use this method for the time being. Now a single 40μ chip packaged one-watt LED lamp bead is very mature and stable. It is not necessary to design LED street lamp through the large-watt LED module integrated by low-power LED chip. The LED itself is operated under low voltage DC, the high voltage will reduce the efficiency, and the low voltage chip integrated module with high voltage has violated the principle of LED illumination. Secondly, the low power LED chip is not as stable as the high power LED. The chip has a lifespan that is less than one-third less than the high power. Doing so may result in one plus one less than one.

I don't recommend using a large module chip as a street light, because we can look at the three best companies in the world of LED lamp beads. Their technology is mainly placed on a single 1 watt LED lamp bead, even if there is individual integration. Large wattage LED modules are developed on high-power LED chips, while domestic LED package manufacturers generally use low-power chips for integration. At present, the large module chips are made by domestic packaging factories to buy other people's chips. The large companies such as National Surgery and Nichia have not made such large module chips.

High-tech LED: In which direction will the future of the light of the universe develop?

Liu Weimin: In the future, we will continue to develop towards environmentally friendly products and try to do more environmentally friendly and energy-saving services and products. Before joining the LED industry, I used to work on environmentally-friendly waste-to-energy plants. I have always paid great attention to environmental protection and living habits. “THE BEST ENERGY IS SAVING ENERGY” (the best energy is energy-saving energy) is my philosophy. We are engaged in the LED lighting industry and want more government leaders and consumers to understand the LED technology and apply it through LED technology.
