"Smart Pipeline Solutions" jointly launched by General Electric and Accenture

General Electric (GE) and Accenture (NYSE: ACN) recently announced that the U.S.-based Columbia Pipeline Group has become the first company to implement a "Smart Pipeline Solution." This innovative system enables pipeline operators to gain a comprehensive understanding of their infrastructure's safety and integrity, allowing for more informed and data-driven decision-making. The Columbia Pipeline Group now provides near real-time monitoring across its 15,000 miles of interstate pipelines, covering threat detection, risk management, and situational awareness. The "Smart Pipeline Solution," developed through a collaboration between GE and Accenture, is designed to help pipeline operators optimize resource allocation and reduce the likelihood of incidents. By integrating multiple data sources, the solution offers a centralized view of pipeline assets, enhancing efficiency and operational accuracy. Shawn Patterson, COO of Columbia Pipeline Group, said, “We are excited to see how data integration is transforming our approach to pipeline integrity management. The Smart Pipeline Solution delivers integrated, geospatial information that covers all critical aspects of pipeline safety. We anticipate continued expansion of this technology and expect it to bring even greater value to our operations in the future.” The solution combines enterprise-wide GIS data, work management systems, regulatory centers, one-call systems, and external data from NOAA and USGS. It also includes pipeline attributes, risk assessments, in-line inspection results, planned assessments, high-impact locations, leak history, emergency valve locations, and geological data. Users can analyze data from different angles, quickly identify key issues, and take appropriate actions. Brian Palmer, Chairman and CEO of GE’s Measurements and Controls Group, added, “Smart Pipeline Solutions address critical needs in the long-haul pipeline industry, helping operators manage regulatory compliance, safety risks, and maintenance challenges. With the rise of the Industrial Internet, we now have access to more data than ever before. GE is uniquely positioned to turn this data into actionable insights, empowering pipeline operators with better decision-making tools.” Columbia Pipeline Group operates over 15,000 miles of gas pipelines across the Marcellus and Utica shale regions in the U.S. As the first to deploy the Smart Pipeline Solution, the company benefits from GE’s pipeline management system—built on the Predix platform—and Accenture’s deep industry expertise and digital capabilities. Peggy KosTIal, Senior Managing Director at Accenture’s North American Resources division, stated, “The global pipeline industry invests $40 billion annually in network expansion and maintenance. With much of the infrastructure built before 1970, security and real-time monitoring have become essential. Accenture is proud to leverage our industry knowledge and operational insights to create a scalable solution that delivers value across the entire sector.” Launched in 2014, the Smart Pipeline Solution was the first industry-specific offering from GE and Accenture following their global strategic partnership in 2013. The two companies continue to collaborate on advanced technologies and data analytics, aiming to unlock the full potential of data across various industries.

Metal film resistors

Metal Film resistor is Film resistor (Film Resistors) of a kind.It is the high temperature vacuum coating technology will be closely attached to the porcelain nickel chromium alloy or similar bar surface skin membrane, after debugging cutting resistance, in order to achieve the final requirements precision resistance, then add appropriate joint cutting, and on its surface coated with epoxy resin sealing protection. As it is a lead resistance, it is convenient for manual installation and maintenance, and is used in most household appliances, communications, instruments and instruments.
