It must dry quickly, adhere strongly, and form a hard, durable film with excellent moisture and oil resistance, as well as good electrical properties. Silicon steel paint is applied to silicon steel sheets, a key material in motor cores. Its purpose is to reduce eddy current losses and improve corrosion resistance. Once applied, the paint is dried at high temperatures for a short period. It should be thin, smooth, evenly distributed, and possess strong adhesion, hardness, and good electrical characteristics. Anti-corona paint is specifically designed for high-voltage motors. Corona discharge occurs when air becomes ionized in an uneven electric field, often near sharp edges or points. To prevent this, many manufacturers apply anti-corona paint to the ends of high-voltage windings after impregnation. This helps reduce electrical stress and improves the long-term reliability of the motor.
