3.1 Road lighting classification
3.1.1 According to the road use function, urban road lighting can be divided into two types: motor vehicle traffic road lighting mainly used for motor vehicles and pedestrian road lighting mainly used by non-motor vehicles and pedestrians.
3.1.2 Motor vehicle traffic Road lighting shall be divided into three levels according to the expressway and the main road, the secondary trunk road and the branch road.
3.2 Road lighting evaluation indicators
3.2.1 Motor vehicle traffic road lighting should be based on the average brightness of the road surface (or average illuminance of the road surface), road surface brightness uniformity and longitudinal uniformity (or road surface illumination uniformity), glare limitation, environmental ratio and inductivity as evaluation indicators.
3.2.2 Pedestrian road lighting should be based on the average illuminance of the road surface, the minimum illuminance of the road surface and the vertical illuminance.
3.3 Standard value of motor vehicle traffic road lighting
3.3.1 The lighting standard values ​​for motorized traffic roads with continuous lighting shall comply with the requirements of Table 3.3.1.
3.3.2 When designing road lighting, ensure that it is well induced.
3.3.3 When selecting the standard lighting value for the same level of road, the nature and scale of the city should be considered. Small and medium-sized cities can choose the low value in Table 3.3.1 of this standard.
3.3.4 When selecting the lighting standard value for the same level of road, the road with perfect traffic control system and road separation facilities should choose the low value in Table 3.3.1 of this standard, and vice versa.
