Intersil recently introduced a new three-group 16×5 video switch EL4544 that is ideal for a wide range of applications with wideband RGB switches. The EL4544 is a video crosspoint switch with 16 input channels connected to five single-ended output channels via a built-in cross-point multiplexer. The EL4544 also features integrated input/output control, DC memory self-calibration, pixel-by-pixel overlay multiplexing, and embedded synchronous decoding. The EL4544 not only lowers the price, but also shortens the design time of video switch applications, such as secure video systems, large video distribution systems, and KVW applications.
The EL4544 is programmable through a series of serial interfaces to generate a shutdown sequence. Its integrated input/output control provides four screen brightness controls. The EL4544 can directly drive a 150 ohm load while generating an instant signal indicator to monitor the synchronization of pre-assigned channels. This product is resistant to 75dB chromatic brightness interference at 100MHz. In addition, a pixel-by-pixel overlay multiplexing mechanism is used for the screen display function and the self-calibration function.
The EL4544 input can also be used for single-ended signals, extending the range of applications for this product. The EL4544 is another innovation from Intersil, with a high-speed analysis solution that has become the leading queue for video products.
