China's first gas-insulated, closed transmission line intelligent equipment, the 2XWE67K-800T9000 two-machine linkage servo CNC bending pipe production line, has officially been launched by Jiangsu Donghai Group. This advanced system was specifically developed for the National 863 Program, focusing on ultra-high voltage (UHV) transmission lines. The project marks a significant milestone in China's efforts to modernize its power infrastructure with cutting-edge technology.
The intelligent equipment was independently developed by Donghai Group, featuring a massive structure weighing 1,600 tons. It is capable of bending high-strength aluminum plates measuring 18 meters in length and 16 mm in thickness. The system employs an advanced vertical and horizontal two-way disturbance compensation worktable, allowing precise control over material deformation during the bending process. This ensures that the surface of the metal remains scratch-free, even when working with different materials and thicknesses.
In addition, the machine is equipped with a CNC front and rear feeding mechanism, along with a supporting material side-out system. These features eliminate the need for manual handling of large workpieces during tube bending, significantly reducing labor intensity for workers while improving overall product quality. The development of this equipment fills a critical gap in China’s domestic forging machinery industry, showcasing the country’s growing capabilities in smart manufacturing.
Donghai Group has been actively investing in research and development for years. Since 2004, the company has maintained a close collaboration with the Jinan Forging Research Institute. Leveraging the institute’s technical expertise, Donghai has built up a strong internal R&D team over more than a decade. The project was completed in less than two months from the moment the customer signed the contract to the official commissioning of the equipment, demonstrating the company's efficiency and technological maturity.
This achievement has greatly enhanced the industrial influence of forging machinery in Hai'an County, positioning Donghai Group as a leader in the field of intelligent manufacturing. As China continues to push forward with its high-tech manufacturing initiatives, projects like this will play a crucial role in driving innovation and competitiveness on the global stage.
