KIWI PLUS, a leading South Korean software development company, has partnered with u-blox, a global leader in wireless and positioning modules, to launch a new children’s smartwatch called LINE Kids Watch. This compact, colorful Android-based device is designed for kids and features the popular LINE emoji function. It's available through KT Corporation, one of South Korea's top telecom providers, and offers real-time location tracking along with educational and interactive content.
Built on KIWI PLUS's own IoT platform, KIWI Edge, the watch includes a simple LCD interface that allows users to communicate with just a touch. It supports accurate GPS tracking, easy-to-set safety zones, and an emergency alert system that lets kids send voice messages directly through the microphone. Additional features include learning quizzes and the Cashbee NFC wallet, making it both fun and practical.
The device is powered by u-blox’s SARA-U270 UMTS/HSPA module and the UBX-G7020-KT GNSS chip. The SARA-U270 provides fast and efficient mobile connectivity in a tiny LGA package, while the UBX-G7020 supports multiple satellite systems like GPS, GLONASS, QZSS, and SBAS. Both components are low-power and highly accurate, ensuring long battery life and reliable performance.
