Panasonic develops small-scale power storage systems to provide LED lighting services in areas without electricity

According to reports, Panasonic Corporation of Japan has successfully developed a small-scale power storage system that can provide LED lighting services for areas without electricity.

It is understood that the 'eneloop solar storage' solution is a small energy collection, storage lighting system that can store electricity generated by nickel-hydrogen solar cells. In addition, the system can also be used as a charging power source for small items such as night lights and mobile phones.

Currently, 1.3 billion people worldwide live in areas without electricity or intermittently providing electricity, which means that about 20% of the world's population does not enjoy the benefits of electricity. In areas where electricity is most deficient, people use kerosene lamps, charging lamps, diesel generators, etc. to provide lighting. This form of lighting has many drawbacks, such as toxic exhaust, low levels of lighting, and high operating costs.

Although these areas lack basic equipment such as charging equipment, mobile networks are still abound.

In 2013, Panasonic began producing a portable solar-powered portable lamp, 'Solar Lantern', which provides electricity for people in areas without electricity. Today, the company has added 'eneloop solar storage' to the company's product line. The product is equipped with an LED straight tube lamp and an LED bulb that provides high brightness and high quality light. In addition, this product can also be used as a high-capacity power supply for various mobile phone charging. It is reported that new products will not only be promoted through existing distributors, but also through non-profit, non-governmental and other international organizations to help people in non-electric areas to create a better living environment.

Panasonic's 'eneloop solar storage' system is equipped with two types of LED lights with output power of 1.5W (bulb type) and 5W (straight tube type).

Due to the use of NiMH batteries, the life expectancy of this system is approximately five years.

In addition, the system can be fully charged using the power of a high-power solar panel with a charging time of approximately five hours. It can be used in lighting applications such as homes, hospitals, schools, shops, etc., and as a power source for small devices such as mobile phones.

It is reported that the 'eneloop solar storage' system will be sold to Asia and Africa in November 2015.
