Xining marches into the era of 750 kV main grid

In early November, with the operation of the 750 kV Sunyueshan substation, the operation mode of Xining City began to spread from the 750-kilovolt transformer substation to the surrounding 330-kilovolt transformer substations and radiate power to the urban areas. The 750-kilovolt power supply mode began to form. At present, the highest voltage level in the northwest region.

In recent years, with the rapid economic development of Xining, the growth in electricity consumption has been rapid. During the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period, the city’s electricity consumption has increased by more than 100%. The 750-kilovolt Sunyueshan substation is the second 750-kilovolt transformer substation in Xining City. At this point, the main grid structure of the Xining power grid was upgraded to form the main grid and backbone grid structure of the 750/330 kilovolt grid, and the structure was “outside”. Type-based, delivery-type, and scale-type "grids" will promote the networking of the Qinghai-Tibet power grids, optimize the allocation of resources in a wider range, and support Tibet's development with far-reaching implications.

The commissioning of the 750 kV ultra-high voltage power grid will greatly increase the development and utilization of water resources in the upper reaches of the Yellow River, promote the conversion of our province's energy advantages to economic advantages, and promote the development of a new type of industrialization. The 750-kilovolt EHV power grid will increase the transmission capacity by a geometric factor. The decrease of the corridors and losses will be of great significance to building an environment-friendly and resource-saving society, developing a low-carbon economy and improving people's livelihood. The strong main grid structure not only satisfies the rapidly growing electricity demand in Xining and serves local economic development. At the same time, it can effectively improve the quality of electricity for urban and rural residents and promote social harmony and stability.
